The Samford Communication Resource Center seeks to help students learn to communicate. You can receive one-on-one time with a tutor who wants to help you learn to write and speak more effectively as well as read more critically.

Location: Brooks Hall, room 222

Hours:  Monday 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Tuesday 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Wednesday 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

We are closed on Fridays.

How do I make an appointment?

Visit samford.mywconline.com. If you have not already, create an account and login. Select the time slot you would like with the available tutor. Once you’ve saved your appointment, you are good to go! Make sure that you arrive on time for your appointment. Students who are late or do not show up for their appointment may lose priority for their session if other students have come to the center for help.

How long will my appointment be?

Appointments can be made in 30 minute segments. If you foresee a situation in which you would need more time with the tutor, make two appointments!

What can you help me with?

• We help with any stage of the writing and speaking process–from invention/brainstorming to organizing to revising. We’re great at helping you develop thesis statements and topic sentences!
• If you struggle with introductions or conclusions, we can help.
• Need assistance with grammar questions or formatting and documentation for APA, MLA, or Chicago? We can help.
• Uncomfortable speaking in front of your classmates? Try that speech out on us first! We’ll give you pointers and help you redirect your speaking anxiety toward performance.
• Not sure what that CP text means? Come in and talk it over with us! We’re here to help.

How often can I come?

You can come as often as you would like! We’re always happy to have you.

How much will it cost me?

Nothing! The CRC is a free tutoring service!
